Derma-V®

Treats sun damage, unwanted benign pigmented and vascular lesions in one laser session

Lutronic Derma-V® differs from other vascular lasers in delivering 532nm (the best wavelength for absorption of oxyhemoglobin) and 1064nm (the best wavelength to reach deeper vessels), at optimal fluence and the appropriate pulse width (enabled by variable sequential pulsing in sub-milli and sub-micro modes), combined with built-in Intelligent Cooling Device (ICD) skin cooling, to diminish discomfort and collateral damage to the adjacent epidermis.

Why I love Derma-V®

By using different wavelengths, pulse durations and fluence, I am able to selectively target different skin conditions with precision, safely and effectively, and perform multiple passes during the same laser session – ranging from diffused redness and flushing of rosacea with very fine broken capillaries to larger telangiectasias (dilated linear blood vessels), red purple scars, brown spots to sun damage and poikiloderma (characterized by broken capillaries, brown spots and skin thinning). Because of the flexibility of pulse widths with variable pulsing, I am now able to treat certain more challenging vascular lesions which I wasn’t able to treat with other lasers previously. With IntelliTrak™ technology (which allows consistent, rapid energy delivery at the selected overlap) and temperature sensing (which provides real-time feedback to help monitor treatment efficacy and safe clinical endpoints), I can treat large areas much faster by using one laser. Clinical improvement is observed just after one treatment with minimal discomfort and low downtime.

eCO2 Plus™

Treats Facial Wrinkles, Surgical and Acne Scars, Sun Damage and Brown Spots

Lutronic eCO2 Plus™ is a gentle, fractional CO2 resurfacing laser that creates tiny micro-wounds while leaving bridges of untreated skin, to stimulate cellular regrowth. The surrounding healthy tissue promotes rapid healing to improve skin quality, giving the skin a firmer, smooth appearance.

Depending on your age, skin type and degree of sun damage, as well as your willingness to tolerate discomfort and downtime in a single treatment, versus less downtime from 2-3 treatments, the laser parameters will be customized to help achieve your goals.

Common treatment benefits include:

  • Reduces facial fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improves appearance of surgical scars and acne scars
  • Reduces sun damage and brown spots
  • Gives the skin a firmer, smooth appearance
  • Lightens and brightens skin tone

Vbeam Prima™

Treats facial and leg vessels, redness, brown spots, deep blue veins, wrinkles and acne.

The Vbeam prima™ is a comprehensive and advanced vascular laser which currently represents the most effective and state-of-the-art vascular platform in medicine. The advanced and enhanced features compared to the previous model — the Vbeam perfecta™ — relate to wavelength, spot size, cooling methods, software, and properties of the dyes used.

The Vbeam prima™ has the two most efficient wavelengths for vascular treatments; the 595 and 1064 nm that primarily target hemoglobin, which is present in the red blood cells circulating in blood vessels, leading to vessel coagulation via photothermal effects. The addition of the 1064 nm Nd:YAG provides enhanced efficacy of treating all vascular conditions with the advantage of the depth and preferential response to the Nd:YAG wavelength for deep and venous lesions.

Hemoglobin has absorption peaks in the blue, green, and yellow bands (414, 542, and 577 nm), as well as a peak in the near-infrared portion of the spectrum (700 to 1100 nm). These peaks correspond mainly to the oxygenated form of hemoglobin (oxyhemoglobin). Other forms of hemoglobin, such as deoxyhemoglobin and methemoglobin, have other absorption spectra in the near-infrared range, hence the 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser in the Vbeam prima™ can successfully target venous blood that is rich in deoxyhemoglobin. The depth of penetration of light originating from a laser is proportional to its wavelength (up to 1200 nm) and the longer wavelength of 1064 nm can reach deeper vessels (blue veins), such as venules, venous lakes, leg vessels and venous malformations.

In addition to the benefits of 1064 nm Nd:YAG, the Vbeam prima™ has a new larger spot size of 15 mm (the largest vascular laser spot size in medicine), which targets deeper vessels, previously not possible with the pulsed dye laser. With a larger spot size, there is less scattering of light and more efficient energy delivered at a deeper level.

The unique features of the 1064nm Nd:YAG addition and the larger 15mm spot size of the Vbeam prima represent a new exciting era of targeting deep vessels by allowing for customization of targeted treatments of blood vessels of various sizes, at different levels of the skin, without unnecessary targeting of the surrounding skin.

Vascular conditions treated by Vbeam prima include rosacea, telangiectasias (small visible, broken blood vessels), facial veins, photoaging, poikiloderma (broken capillaries and red brown discoloration in sun damaged skin), cherry angiomas, venous lakes, venules, portwine stain and venous malformations (vascular birthmarks) and superficial leg veins or spider veins.

CLARITY II™

treats unwanted hair, pigmented lesions, vascular lesions, photodamage and wrinkles

CLARITY II™ is a multi-functional dual wavelength laser which combines long-pulsed 755nm Alexandrite and 1064nm Nd:YAG in one platform, and offers a wide variety of techniques ranging from removal of pigmented lesions, unwanted hair and vascular lesions on all skin types, effectively, without discomfort, crusting or significant downtime. In addition, wrinkles, enlarged pores and skin laxity can be improved at the same time. I am most impressed by the versatility, efficiency and safety of this device, enabling me to perform multiple combination treatments during the same session, with fast, visible results.

Radiofrequency Microneedling

Treats Wrinkles, Skin Laxity and Scars

Genius™ is a radiofrequency (RF) device which directly delivers energy inside the skin to coagulate collagen, resulting in contraction and the replacement of degenerated and altered collagen with production of new collagen. Recent studies have shown that even when used as a single treatment method, RF therapy technology is one of the most effective techniques in the treatment of skin laxity (loose skin) and wrinkles. In addition, controlled heat modifies the elastic properties of the dermal tissue, by increasing the extensibility of the fibrous tissue, promoting flexibility and improvement of scars. As RF energy bypasses the skin surface to penetrate deep into the dermis, Genius™ can be used to treat any skin type. Treatments are customized with precision for each patient, with minimal discomfort and downtime.

LaseMD ULTRA™

Treats Sun Damage, Freckles, Sunspots, Actinic Keratoses and Enlarged Pores

LaseMD Ultra™ is a gentle, non-ablative, fractional resurfacing laser which restores healthy, glowing skin by coagulating tissue in the epidermis and superficial dermis. It is used for the treatment of photodamage, actinic keratoses (precancerous lesions), benign pigmented lesions including freckles and sunspots (lentigines) and enlarged pores. Ultra™ provides brightening and improvement of skin health for all skin types, with minimal downtime or discomfort. By generating microchannels in the skin, Ultra™ allows for laser assisted delivery of cosmeceuticals and medications, infused to boost the rejuvenating effects of resurfacing, including vitamin A (for improvement of epidermal turnover and collagen synthesis), vitamin C (for hydration, improvement of collagen synthesis, reduction of inflammation and hyperpigmentation), tranexamic acid (for treatment of melasma) and growth factors in KeraFactor™ (for treatment of thinning hair), during each laser treatment session.

3 total treatments (each treatment session utilizing both Genius™ and Ultra™, 6 weeks apart) for facial rejuvenation and skin tightening and lifting are recommended for best results.

KeraLase™

Treats Thinning Hair

KeraLase™ is a new effective treatment for thinning hair, as it rejuvenates the scalp to support hair growth. Each treatment session begins with a scalp treatment using LaseMD Ultra™, followed immediately by the application of the KeraFactor™ serum. Ultra™ prepares the skin for increased absorption by creating micro-columns of denatured tissue in the epidermis and upper dermis of the scalp through a 5-10 minute treatment with little discomfort or downtime, allowing KeraFactor™ serum to penetrate much deeper than using the product alone. KeraFactor™ serum contains high concentrations of 7 bio-identical growth factors (polypeptides and proteins that improve scalp circulation and stimulate hair growth) which are found to be deficient in most people with thinning hair. In addition, patients with thinning hair may have too much of other growth factors that actually inhibit hair growth. KeraFactor™ does not contain these potentially growth-inhibiting factors. 6 total treatments (1 treatment session every 2 weeks for 12 weeks) are recommended for best results.
